About
Kodo Robotics is an independent robotics engineering initiative by Sakshay Mahna, a Robotics Software Engineer working on robotics software, simulation, and developer tooling. The work focuses on the infrastructure behind autonomous robots: modular ROS 2 systems, simulation environments, validation workflows, and tools that make engineering work easier to reproduce and maintain.
Kodo approaches robotics as a systems problem. Useful software has clear boundaries, observable behavior, and a path from simulation to hardware validation — treating developer experience, testability, and failure handling as engineering concerns rather than afterthoughts. Open-source work, technical writing, and experimental projects are part of that practice: a way to share methods, document tradeoffs, and build reusable foundations for future robots.
Engineering focus
- Robotics software architecture and ROS 2 systems
- Autonomous navigation and manipulation with Nav2 and MoveIt 2
- Simulation and validation with Gazebo and Isaac Sim
- Developer tooling, reproducible environments, and debugging workflows
- Simulation-to-real validation and hardware-software integration
